Little Jovi James scared me and Jesse to death last night. Our roommate Danielle watches Jovi on tuesday nights while me and Jesse are working. Around 8 o'clock I noticed that she had called twice and texted like 3 times. I called her  right away. She told me that Jovi stopped breathing 3 times over the past few hours. The first time was the worst she couldn't breath for like 10 secs. and she started freaking out but couldn't make any noise. The other two times weren't as long but equally as scary. I rushed home calling Jesse to meet me there.  Thank God Hawaii is so small and I live like 5 mins from my work.

When I got home Jovi seemed totally fine. She was all smiles and laughs. Jesse and I were both still worried that it would happen again and that it would last longer next time so we rushed out the door to the hospital.Again thanking God that Hawaii is small and that we pretty much live across the street from a children's hospital. When we got to the emergency room they saw us right away. The nurse gave us this tiny little baby gown to put on and it nearly made me cry.  Then they did a full screening on Jovi. They were so incredible to us and were super kind and caring. It's so scary not knowing and not being able to talk to you daughter to find out what happened. They asked a ton of questions and decided to do a full chest and neck X-ray just to make sure nothing was blocking her airway.

My poor girl, they had to put her in this crazy contraption to take the X-rays!! it looked like she got stuck in a huge plastic tube. she screamed so hard and hated every minute of it. I wanted to reach out and save her from it. she just stared at me like, "why are you letting them do this to me?"

While we waited for them to check the X-rays they monitored her breathing by sticking this glowing bandaid type thing on her toe. It monitored her pulse, heart rate and amount of oxygen in her blood.

While we were waiting I was thanking God that this trip wasn't more serious. She feel asleep in my lap. meanwhile, I would hear the occasional cries of other babies. I don't know what I would do if something life threatening happened to her. My heart and prayers were going out to those other families.

Finally , the Doctor came back. He said that all the tests and X-rays all came back normal, and that she was very healthy. He had no idea what caused her to stop breathing. He had a few possible ideas but nothing that sounded like it fit. He said to keep an eye on her and that she should be fine. I was thankful that she was ok but I was hoping to find out what caused it or if it was going to happen again.  He couldn't say for sure and then sent us on our way.

On our way out I glimpse over and saw a little baby hooked up to a ton of different machines and breathing tubes. It broke my heart. I have no idea the kinda of pain the mom must have been feeling. She must have felt so helpless. I really hope that baby is ok.

Well, it's been 24 hours now and Jovi has been fine. I'm hoping that it was just a fluke. I know crazy weird things happen with babies and i'm hoping this one doesn't come back. I'm just thanking God that our first time in the hospital with Jovi wasn't a very serious trip and that we all came home and healthy.

xoxo

Poor little thing. I hope she is okay! There is nothing worse than seeing your child in pain. I have had my share of trips to the ER with my son and hes only 2! Thank God it has never been anything super serious.
